Enhanced Sports Performance

In this the latest video update I discuss and implement the treatment protocols utilised to recharge the the batteries of an elite athlete.

Abbey initially presented in clinic feeling uncharacteristically exhausted.
She was having to force herself to complete every training session.
Upon taking her pulse and discussing her somewhat depleted energetic state I made a diagnosis of Liver deficiency yang deficiency syndrome and administered treatment accordingly, tonifying Ki.3 and Liv.3 the Yuan Source/Earth points of the Kidney/Water and Liver/Wood Meridians and Sp.1 the Wood point on the Earth Meridian.

One week later Abbey presented in clinic feeling much more energetic and more like her vital athletic self.

However, there was one unusual consequence of her previous treatment ???
She had completely stopped perspiring, even during the most arduous of training sessions in extremely humid late summer conditions she had totally ceased to perspire!
She had never experienced anything even vaguely similar in her life.

Judging by this unusual clinical outcome my diagnosis obviously required a significant rethink.
Using my hard won understanding of the elemental qualities of the meridians and points I decided the most affected treatment strategy was to restore the opening and closing function of the pores of her skin.
This conclusion did not require the deductive skills of Sherlock Holmes :-)

Considering the classical theory espoused in the 69th chapter of the Nan Jing (Classic of Difficulties) combined with a basic understanding of the significance of the role that the Lung Meridian in conjunction with the Kidney meridian played in the opening and closing of the pores of the skin.
I followed my nose to administer a Kidney deficient Yin deficient root treatment using the Metal point of the Metal meridian in conjunction with the Metal point on the Water meridian.
Lu.8 - Ki.7 and St.36 to regulate Yangming (Supplement Nutritive Qi and support Spleen/Kidney  function).
A very simple yet extremely powerful root treatment.
Follow by the relative Back Shu points, all needled no deeper then 2 mm.

Abbey duly recommenced perspiring and continued to experience significantly increased energy levels.
